Lorida, FL, HVAC Services
One Standard, Three Decades of Service
One truck. One technician. One standard. That's what Miller's Central Air looked like when Rick Miller founded it in 1995. The company is larger now — more technicians, more service calls, more of the Heartland covered — but the founding commitment hasn't changed: assess what's wrong with the equipment, communicate what you find, and fix the problem for what it costs to fix. That standard wasn't written into a policy manual. It was modeled in how Rick worked, and it's been passed down to the technicians who joined after him.
Three decades on, that promise is unchanged. Miller's Central Air has served Lorida and Highlands County since the company's first year of operation, and the technician who arrives at your door today works under the same operating standard Rick built when there was only one technician on the crew.

The Company Rick Miller Founded and Still Leads
Rick started this company around a specific operating principle: the company he built would work honestly, or it wouldn't work at all. That meant technicians explained what they found before writing up what it would cost. It meant no commission structure that rewarded the discovery of larger problems. It meant treating a customer's equipment and time with the same attention you'd give your own. Those principles weren't handed down from a corporate office. They came from Rick himself, from how he ran calls before there were enough technicians to need a policy.
Rick still leads Miller's Central Air today. In a service industry where companies get acquired and restructured regularly, that matters. When ownership changes, operating standards often shift alongside it — sometimes in the first quarter, sometimes more slowly. Miller's Central Air hasn't changed hands. The company that made a commitment to this region in 1995 is still the one running calls here, which means the standard Rick established hasn't been renegotiated.

The Two Visits Your System Gets Each Year: What They Cover
Our Planned Service Agreement includes two maintenance visits. The spring visit is built around your cooling system: refrigerant levels, coil condition, capacitor health, electrical connections, and airflow performance. The technician is specifically looking for the kind of wear that's easy to overlook in March but can cause a breakdown during the peak heat of August. Catching it in the spring is a fraction of the cost of an emergency call in summer.
The fall visit shifts to the heating side: heat exchanger condition, burner performance, ignition components, and any wear that needs attention before the heating season. In Highlands County, the temperature swings aren't dramatic, but a heating system that fails on a cold January night is still a problem, and a fall visit that catches it prevents a service call when you need heat most.
The agreement also excludes overtime rates for emergency service calls made between scheduled visits, and a repair discount applies to any work that occurs outside your maintenance schedule.
